Follow along as the Homegrown Experience crew visits southeast Alaska for exceptional Steelhead trout fly fishing.
These unique trout are native to North America and Northeast Asian cold-water tributaries. Like salmon, steelhead spawn in freshwater streams and then migrate back to larger bodies of water to forage for several years before returning to their native stream to spawn again. The big difference between a Steelhead trout and a salmon is that this breading journey repeats itself over their lifetime and isn’t a single fatal trip upstream to procreate.
